An advanced training course in Cell and Molecular Techniques
will be presented for international postgraduate participants.
This two-week course provides hands-on introduction to
useful biology tools in cell and molecular levels. 

 
 

TOPICS:

  •  Stem cell derivation from rat bone marrow
  •  Cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry
  •  DNA isolation, conventional PCR and electrophoresis
  •  Reverse transcription and real time PCR
  •  Prokaryotic gene cloning

In total, 15 participants will be selected based on qualifications.

  DNA and protein isolation, PCR, electrophoresis, reverse transcription,
  RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, prokaryotic gene cloning)
Introduction to cell culture
Practice on cell culture

Introduction to stem cells 
Practice on stem cell derivation from rat bone marrow

Introduction to cell growth and apoptosis 
Practice on cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry
  Day 3
Principles of DNA and protein isolation, PCR and electrophoresis 
Practice on DNA and protein isolation from cells, PCR and DNA and
  protein electrophoresis
  Day 4 & 5
Introduction to gene expression analysis at mRNA and protein levels;
  reverse transcription and immunostaining
Practice on RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis and RT-PCR
Practice on immunocytochemistry
  Day 6, 7 & 8
Introduction to genetic engineering
Practice on prokaryotic gene cloning
  Day 9, 10 & 11
