The Research Institute of Biotechnology, hosting a wide range of specialists in different fields of biotechnology including molecular biology, cellular biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry, and developmental biology, is actively pursuing research leads that their results could be applied for production of recombinant proteins and recombinant vaccines, and could be translated to medicine and veterinary medicine. These research fields include the development of platforms for production of recombinant proteins, molecular studies of cancer and cancer stem cells, genome and epigenome editing, molecular diagnostics, and pilot (the laboratory scale) production of therapeutic recombinant monoclonal antibodies. The four research groups in the Research Institute of Biotechnology are:
Cellular and molecular biotechnology
Embryonic and stem cell biotechnology
Veterinary medical biotechnology
Agricultural biotechnology
